Bachelor of Computer Applications (Honours)
BCA (Honours) at SICSR is oriented toward building a smart career for Information Technology professionals. This programme with specialisations will be offered to the meritorious students of the first year of the existing BCA programme on completion of additional 24 credits. The specialisations of this programme are Data Science, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, Cloud Computing, and Data Security. The programme is focused on the current trends in technology and prepares the students for a brilliant career. This degree equips students with the skills to analyse data, provide secure solutions, and build intelligent systems. Students will eventually be able to comprehend logic development ideas and industry best software practices.
Experiential learning is a crucial component of the educational process here at SICSR. Students create a variety of pilot projects to test their theoretical topic understanding. Pedagogical methods such as case studies, role-plays, quizzes, and flipped classrooms are used by faculty members. Students are strongly encouraged to make use of the different venues available to learn via MOOCs.
The institute also takes part in community service projects organised by professional organisations. In addition, SICSR hosts a variety of activities to help students develop leadership abilities. At the institute, there are several clubs where students may organise and engage in creative activities.

|COURSES & SPECIALIZATION||The Bachelor of Computer Applications (Honours) with specializations will be offered to the meritorious students of the first year students of existing BCA programme on completion of additional 24 credits. The students can opt for degree with honours programme in the second year subject to the fulfilment of the eligibility conditions. The ‘Degree with Honours’ Programme in the respective specializations
will be offered subject to a minimum enrolment of students. Students with Pending Backlog (due to any reason) will not be admitted to the ‘Degree with Honours’ Programme. Students may pursue optional (Honours) specialization in one of the specialization areas by completing additional 24 credits in Semester: 3, 4, 5, and 6 as specified in :

2. Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning
3. Cloud Computing
4. Data Security
|ASSESSMENT||All internal courses will have 100% component as internal evaluation at the institute level. All external courses will have 40% internal component and 60% external component [University] examination.|
|STANDARD OF PASSING||Bachelor of Computer Applications (Honours) in Data Science/Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning/Cloud Computing/ Data Security will be awarded at the end of semester VI examination by taking into consideration the performance of all semester examinations after obtaining minimum 4.00 CGPA out of 10 CGPA|
|AWARD OF DEGREE/DIPLOMA/CERTIFICATE||Bachelor of Computer Applications (Honours) will be awarded.|
Programme Structure 2021-24
Semesters 1 and 2 will be the same for both, BCA as well as BCA (honours). During semesters 3 to 6, students may opt for any of the four specialisation areas by completing 24 additional credits.

- BCA (Honours) offers the necessary skills for professionals heading for a career in Data Science, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, Cloud Computing, or Data security.
- The programme inculcates in students, the ability to analyse data and build smart solutions.
- BCA (Honours) graduates will also have the ability to design and deploy secure systems.
- Students of the programme will not only be technically competent but will also have the capability to communicate with their prospective clients effectively.
Orientation and Pedagogy
The BCA (Honours) program is oriented towards building a smart career in the Information Technology professionals. The program is focused on the computer application which required the skill set of creative, logical thinking of a given problem. The students are always ready to learn new technology.
To develop techno-management skills, SICSR conducting various workshops and seminars on current technology. The practical and theoretical aspects of the different specializations are provided with industry through various guest lectures, projects, and conclaves.
Experiential learning is an integral part of the teaching process. The different pilot projects are developed by the students for exploring theoretical subject knowledge. The case study, role play, quiz, flip-class room, etc. pedagogy is considered while teaching the subject. Students are significantly encouraged to learn from MOOCs using various platforms made available.
College also participates in community services that are conducted by professional bodies like IEEE, ACM. The different national and international events like coding, hackathon, research, etc. are conducted for developing the problem-solving skills of the students. The different events are organized by the college to nurture student management skills. Various clubs are functional at the institute where students can organize and participate in creative activities.
