Cyber Jaagrookta(Awareness) Diwas 1 March 2023

The Cultural Club of Symbiosis Institute of Computer Studies and Research hosted Cyber Jaagrookta(Awareness) Diwas on 1th March 2023. The day is commemorated in order to aware people regarding the cyber security trends, threats and good practices to prevent such attacks. There is a need to increase cyber hygiene for prevention of cybercrimes by inculcating habits of taking basic care of ICT devices at regular intervals.


Speech was started by Rishabh Rajvanshi. He talked about how to be secure while scanning QR code, while making online payments, how to check if the QR is authentic.

Next Samkit Jain conducted the quiz based upon the speech given by Rishabh. Winners were awarded with e-certificates.

At last, Samyak Jain showed how weak passwords can be hacked easily, he also gave his personal opinion how to avoid such hacks

Dance Competition 2023

The Cultural Club of Symbiosis Institute of Computer Studies and Research hosted a dance competition on 22th February 2023. The event started with the Introduction to the competition, lamp lighting by Dr. Sachin Naik sir, Deputy Director, SICSR, Dr. Anuja Bokhare, Faculty coordinator, SICSR cultural club and the judges Mr. Aarav Agrawal and Mr. Vinayak Kamath. The students and staff at SICSR rocked the stage with some scintillating dance performances and the audience in the event was really mesmerized by the performance. The judges declared the results for both Solo and Group Performance.

  3. Appreciation Awards: Dr. Prafulla bafna, Diksha diwedi (BCA 2021-24)

The event was concluded by vote of thanks given by Khushi Bansal, Vice President of the Dance club. The event ended with a final note by Cultural Club Coordinator Dr. Anuja Bokhare.

The Cultural Club of Symbiosis Institute of Computer Studies and Research hosted Cyber Jaagrookta(Awareness) Diwas on 1th February 2023. The day is commemorated in order to aware people regarding the cyber security trends, threats and good practices to prevent such attacks. Speech was started by Samyak Jain. He talked about different types of cyber crimes such as copyright infringement, cyber harassment, cyber stalking, child pornography, malware, phishing, etc. Next Samkit Jain talked about digital wellbeing, limiting screen time,etc. Then Ayush Asawa gave a skit on social media wellbeing, such as not sharing personal information, beware of digital stalkers, etc. At last, Samyak Jain showed Kaspersky cyber crime rate across the world and Scam adviser which shows how legitimate a website is.

Speech was started by Yaumna Hassan and another interactive presentation was delivered by Samyak Jain which was followed by Dr. Anuja Bokhare’s concluding remarks.

Armed Forces Flag Day 2022

The Cultural Club of Symbiosis Institute of Computer Studies and Research hosted Armed Forces Flag Day on 7th December 2022. The day is commemorated in order to honour the soldiers serving in the Army and also the veterans. The event started with the Introduction of Armed Forces Flag Day, a presentation by Tech Club was displayed, Musical tribute by music club to our Armed Forces.

Navratri Celebration 2022

Symbiosis Institute of Computer Studies and Research (SICSR) celebrated Navratri on  3rd  of October 2022, from 14:00 to 17:00. The celebration involved a garba competition where various groups participated. After a series of different groups competing, everyone joined the stage to dance and enjoy navratri.

Garba Dandiya workshop

Symbiosis Institute of Computer Studies and Research (SICSR) conducted a Garba Dandiya Workshop on the 1st of October, 2022 from 17:00 to 18:00. The workshop was hosted by the Dance Club where multiple garba steps were taught and practiced. It was a fun workshop where the participants also gave their inputs.

Teachers Day celebration 2022

Symbiosis Institute of Computer Studies and Research (SICSR) celebrated Teachers Day on  5th of September 2022, from 15:30 to 16:30. The celebration involved a game of Antakshari for the faculty, a dance performance by the dance club, a music performance by the music club and mimicry of our faculty by the Drama club.

Traditional Day 2022

The Cultural Club of SICSR organised Traditional Day ’22 on April 22, 2022. The students hosted a plethora of events; it was an eventful day. It was observed as a celebration of diverse cultures across the world. It was a day designated for people to come in traditional attire from their home country, state, or a specific culture of their choice.

The event was inaugurated with lamp lighting and Saraswati pooja by Director Prof. Dr. Jatinderkumar R. Saini, Deputy Director Dr. Sachin A. Naik, Administrative officer Ms. Deepali Suryawanshi and Cultural Club in-charge Dr. Anuja Bokhare.

The event was followed by “The Fashion Walk”, the evening’s fashion show where students walked the ramp and gave outfit inspiration. Many students participated in the Fashion Show, and won the following awards.

  1. Best Dressed – Male- Jiten Nanda
  2. Best Dressed – Female-Sanya Khan
  3. Best Walk –Saloni Samant

SICSR’s Music Club organised a sequence of melodious musical performances on this day and gave solo performances and band Performances. There was also a DJ Face-off. The event ended with a Flash Mob organised by the Dance Club. All in all, the day was extremely successful and the students enjoyed the offline event after two years of pandemic-related restrictions.

Matribhasha Diwas 2022

Symbiosis Institute of Computer Studies and Research (SICSR) conducted ‘Matribhasha Diwas’ or ‘International Mother Language Day’ on February 21st, 2022 from 15:30-16:00 hours. The day was celebrated to commemorate the spirit of oneness in the world with its diversified cultures, languages, beliefs and much more. The motto of Symbiosis International (Deemed University) ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’ perfectly resonates with the ideology of the day which means world is one family speaking different languages.

It has been decided that the theme of the International Mother Language Day in 2022 will be “Using technology for multilingual learning: Challenges and opportunities.”

 It focuses on the potential role of technology in advancing multilingual education and assisting in the establishment of high-quality teaching and learning opportunities for all students and teachers. After a brief introduction about the relevance of the day, few participants shared poetries and short speech, presented and spoken in their respective regional languages such as Punjabi, Hindi, Marathi, Malayalam, etc.

Parakram Diwas 2021

The Cultural Club conducted an online event on March 12, 2021, to celebrate the indomitable spirit of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose. The event started with a warm welcome and brief history of Parakram Diwas by Ms.Sharvaree Deshpande. Followed by speeches in Hindi and English on freedom struggles and various ideologies by Mr.Tushar Laad & Ms.Maria Qaiser. Next, we had an amazing dance video prepared by the dance club showing the concept of Netaji’s inclusion of all women by portraying a female’s different sides. The event was concluded with a vote of thanks by Ms. Muskan Mehrotra. This event signified patriotism and female representation in freedom struggle.

Birthday Celebration of Rabindranath Tagore

Symbiosis Institute of Computer Studies and Research (SICSR) celebrated Birth Anniversary of Shri Rabindranath Tagore on May 10, 2021 from 15:30-16:00 hours.

The Cultural Club conducted an online event to celebrate the Birth Anniversary of Shri Rabindranath Tagore who is one of the most celebrated litterateurs in the world. The event started with a warm welcome and brief history about Ravindranath Tagore by Mr Kushagra Goyal followed by a documentary that helped us understand his life and contribution for our nation.Next, we had a speech by Mr. Tushar Laad who told us about Ravindranath Tagore’s early life, achievements and contributions all over the world. After Mr Raibata Basu presented a poem written by Tagore in Bengali which helped us see through his rich language and mindset. In the final leg of the event Mr Bedanta Mukherjee presented a poem written by Tagore in English.

Majhi Vasundhara Abhiyan 2021

Majhi Vasundhara #Epledge is an initiative by the Department of Environment and Climate Change, Govt. Of Maharashtra to connect with every citizen at a personal level.  It was celebrated in Symbiosis Institute of Computer Studies and Research (SICSR), Pune in online mode.
In a countdown to the 75th year of India’s Independence, the Central Government launched ‘Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav’, a 25-day event which starts from 12th March, marking the anniversary of Dandi March and concludes on 5th April 2021. The Cultural Club of SICSR conducted an online event regarding the same on March  12, 2021 from 15:30-16:30 hours.

Matribhasha Diwas 2021

Matribhasha Diwas or International Mother Language Day is observed every year on February 21 to promote linguistic and cultural diversity and multilingualism around the world. This year, in 2021, the Cultural Club of SICSR celebrated the day virtually.The event consisted of speeches in different languages in order to highlight the rich cultural heritage of the country.The event was held at 3.30 PM on 24th February 2021.

National Youth Day 2021

The event held on January 12, 2021, consisted of a brief introduction of the importance of the event, moving on to a poem written by Sanchi 2019-22 batch.

We had a guest speaker named Anjali Chakravarti who talked about topics ranging from adversity to importance of the voice of one’s own.

The event was gracefully ended by a poetic performance by Tushaar laad of batch 2019-22. The was joined by the 6 SICSR staff and 16 students on MS-Teams.

Armed forces Flag Day was celebrated on 7th December to salute the martyrs, honor the brave, express solidarity, and support the welfare of war veterans at Symbiosis Institute of Computer Studies and Research (SICSR), Pune in online mode.

Open Mic (World Mental Health Day)

To commemorate and mark the red letter day of Mental Health Day on 10th October 2020, the cultural club of SICSR conducted an eventuality. Opening up with a healthy interactive session with the guest of honour Ms. Roshni Singh who was hosted by the Orators’ Club president Saimah Baig. The session continued to an “Open Mic” which was thought to be the best activity for the day as it provided an open platform for students to come and share their thoughts in any form they deemed fit, be it witnessed experiences or mere strings of words. The audience was quite enthusiastic who cheered the participants and actively involved themselves in asking questions to the guest speaker as well. The whole idea was to spread awareness about the stigmatized and understated concept of Mental Health in our society. The cultural club thought that this day would be the best to bring the family of SICSR together, though virtually and also connect them together through understanding and empath.

SICSR celebrated the festival of knowledge with great glee. Devi Saraswati is said to be ‘Vidyadayini’ and ‘Hanshvahini’. All the faculty and staff participated for the Pooja and rituals were done.

Navratri 2020

Maintaining the social distancing norms, an online competition was conducted from October 17 2020 – October 25 2020 where the participants were asked to follow a color code in dressing per day. They were required to click and post a picture on the group and winners were declared through an online poll.

Hindi Bhasha Divas 2020

The session, held on September 14 2020, was planned to celebrate Hindi day. Dr. Jatinderkumar R. Saini, Director, SICSR opened the event. He explained the importance of language in a human’s life. He spoke about natural language processing, his research area. Kushagra Goyal , Shruti Bajpee , Ashish Chitransh presented a Hindi poem. Games were played in a group like speaking only in Hindi for two minutes, English words were not allowed . Some of the students shared their experience about the how language helped them. All event participants were awarded by e-certificate.

Unify 2020

SICSR organised a cultural event, “Unify” with a lot of enthusiasm and liveliness. It is the most awaited cultural fest of all the students at SICSR. Unify is the time when students experience some fun and frolic activities apart from the regular academic schedules and enjoy oneself to the fullest. The motto of the event is “Where We Unite” which means despite all our differences we stand united and thus we are best when we are together. The event was held from 20-22 February, 2020

The celebratory event was graced by Major Akshay Kulkarni, Administrative Officer at the Station Workshop EME, Kirkee Cantonment as the guest of honor. The event was hosted by Muskaan Mehrotra and Sharvaree Deshpande. Along with Kushagra Goyal(BBA-IT) reciting a poem and Kanika Mishra delivering a speech praising and admiring the arduous tasks our soldiers do every day. A mellifluous medley of songs was performed by Music Club of SICSR. This event helped in putting light on the significant importance of our Indian Armed Forces and showing our gratefulness towards their remarkable service, appreciating their determination and dedication

Ek Bharat Sreshta Bharat

Cultural Club Committee 2019-20 hosted Ethnic Day on 29th November, 2019 which focused on celebrating different cultures, regions and languages, to showcase the tradition of every student of our college.The gathering was to celebrate the Indian way of life as a whole. It was an endeavour to bring about a simple expression of unity in diversity that holds together the multitudes of outlooks, lifestyles and tradition to reflect the ethnicity of our country. The students made the day more colorful by wearing traditional attire. Various cultural programmes were organised which includes dance , theatre and music club performances.Also and active participation was extended by the college teams. The response from the students was overwhelming.
