Overview
BCA (Honours) in Pune is oriented towards building a smart career for Information Technology professionals. This programme with specializations will be offered to the meritorious students of the first year, of existing BCA programme on completion of additional 24 credits. The specializations offered as part of this programme are Data Science, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, Cloud Computing, and Data Security. The programme is focused on the current trends in technology and prepares the students for a smart career. This degree equips students with the skills to analyse data, provide secure solutions, and build intelligent systems. Students will eventually possess the ability to comprehend logic development ideas and industry best software practices.
Experiential learning is a crucial component of the educational process here at SICSR. Students create a variety of pilot projects to test their theoretical topic understanding. Pedagogical methods such as case studies, role plays, quizzes, and flip-classrooms are used while teaching the topic at one of the prominent BCA colleges in Pune. Students are strongly encouraged to take use of the different venues available to learn via MOOCs.
The college also takes part in community service projects organised by professional organisations. The institution hosts a variety of activities to help students develop leadership abilities. At the institute, there are several groups where students may organise and engage in creative activities.

| COURSES & SPECIALIZATION | The Bachelor of Computer Applications (Honours) with specializations will be offered to the meritorious students of the first year students of existing BCA programme on completion of additional 24 credits. The students can opt for degree with honours programme in the second year subject to the fulfilment of the eligibility conditions. The ‘Degree with Honours’ Programme in the respective specializations will be offered subject to a minimum enrolment of students. Students with Pending Backlog (due to any reason) will not be admitted to the ‘Degree with Honours’ Programme. Students may pursue optional (Honours) specialization in one of the specialization areas by completing additional 24 credits in Semester: 3, 4, 5, and 6 as specified in : 1. Data Science 2. | ASSESSMENT | All internal courses will have 100% component as internal evaluation at the institute level. All external courses will have 40% internal component and 60% external component [University] examination. |

Programme Structure 2021-24
Semesters 1 and 2 will be the same for both, BCA as well as BCA (honours). During semesters 3 to 6, students may opt for any of the four specialisation areas by completing 24 additional credits.

Syllabus
Orientation and Pedagogy
The BCA (Honours) program is oriented towards building a smart career in the Information Technology professionals. The program is focused on the computer application which required the skill set of creative, logical thinking of a given problem. The students are always ready to learn new technology.
To develop techno-management skills, SICSR conducting various workshops and seminars on current technology. The practical and theoretical aspects of the different specializations are provided with industry through various guest lectures, projects, and conclaves.
Experiential learning is an integral part of the teaching process. The different pilot projects are developed by the students for exploring theoretical subject knowledge. The case study, role play, quiz, flip-class room, etc. pedagogy is considered while teaching the subject. Students are significantly encouraged to learn from MOOCs using various platforms made available.
College also participates in community services that are conducted by professional bodies like IEEE, ACM. The different national and international events like coding, hackathon, research, etc. are conducted for developing the problem-solving skills of the students. The different events are organized by the college to nurture student management skills. Various clubs are functional at the institute where students can organize and participate in creative activities.
